Meet Andre La Rosa, CPA
“It is not about spreadsheets but about transforming people”
When Andre La Rosa first connected with High Notes Avante through a mutual friend, he had no idea that a casual conversation about music and mental wellness would open the door to a long and heartfelt commitment. He recalls being immediately drawn to founder Ingrid’s vision — to use the power of music to inspire mental wellness, reduce stigma, and create a voice for those who often suffer in silence.
“Everyone is touched by mental health in one way or another,” Andre explains. “When Ingrid shared her mission with me, it just clicked. I knew this was something worth being a part of.”

Andre joined the board as Treasurer in January of 2017 and has supported High Notes Avante’s programs with both strategic insight and compassion every since. With his background in accounting, he helped establish sound financial foundations that allowed the organization to grow steadily. But what touches him most isn’t the spreadsheets or reports — it is seeing people transformed by the music itself.
Over the years, Andre has seen young performers who once struggled with fear or anxiety bravely step into the spotlight, their trembling voices turning into melodies of confidence and joy. “Watching someone who’s anxious or uncertain get on stage and perform — and then finish with a huge smile — that’s the real reward,” he says.
High Notes Avante’s mission is unique because it harnesses the emotional power of music to create conversations about mental wellness. While many organizations focus on therapy and awareness campaigns, High Notes Avante adds an artistic dimension that reaches hearts more deeply. Whether it’s a community concert, a gala performance, or a small group music lesson, each event celebrates healing, connection, and courage.
Andre reflects on how far the organization has come since its humble beginnings: “It started as a small idea — just a few people trying to make a difference. Now, our music programs are in high demand, and every available spot fills up quickly. We’d love to expand so we can welcome even more people.”
This growth, he says, underscores how crucial music and creative expression are in promoting emotional wellbeing. Through lessons and workshops, individuals of all ages — especially young people — are finding a safe space to express themselves and recover their sense of confidence and peace.
Still, the journey continues. High Notes Avante’s biggest challenge today is sustainability and expansion. With greater community support, the organizations hopes to provide free or subsidized lessons for those who cannot afford them, ensuring that financial constraints never silence a person’s chance to heal through music.
“Every donation helps us reach someone new,” Andre explains. “But beyond money, we need awareness. Talk about mental health. Encourage others to reach out for help. Share what we’re doing. That’s how change happens — through community.”
“Whether you donate, volunteer, or simply spread the word,” Andre says, “you’re helping someone find peace through music.”
